Hennessey's Las Vegas

Originating in California, the fabulous Hennessey's Tavern is now here in Las Vegas to grace Downtown. It usually places its locations square in the path of young, affluent bar hoppers, and if you head in on a weekend, expect a lot of beautiful people tilting back Guinness and Bushmills. Their timing is impeccable, as the revamping of Downtown LV targets a similar crowd. This one is definitely in the right place at the right time offering up the great food and atmospheres as the ones before it.Though it's a semi-chain, the bars escape a cookie cutter feeling for the most part. It's an Irish tavern, through and through, but with some West Coast touches like a pop music soundtrack and karaoke night, which can get pretty fun to watch after the singers have had a few black and tans. If you're in for some munchies, there are some thick sandwiches and burgers, traditional corned beef and cabbage or "Irish nachos" -- sliced potato covered in cheese and sour cream. Check in for weekly drink specials accompanying dinner. And, don't forget the famous "First Friday"� when you can enjoy great food and prizes. Mr. Hennessey quotes, "I saw the need for nice gathering places with relaxing environments. Our restaurants are about our people. We ensure that our staff is more than just order takers or food deliverers. Our staff has become our extended family, along with our guests." -- well, it's safe to say 'he's done it again!'
